Last words from our vacation

I wanted to post just a few more shots from our time up in Door County, and then I promise, we will be done.

Thanks Mom!

Grandmothers love their grandbabies and my mom is no different. This is the second time that she has visited since the babies arrived and it was a treat to have her here for so long! Initially, we had a long list of activities that we aspired to, but in the end, our days were spent drinking tea, playing with the babies and attempting to stay on top of the laundry. It was just perfect. We love you so much!

Visitors from Germany

Last week, we were fortunate enough to share an evening with our dear friends Gordon and Caryl. This is unusual as they live in Germany. They have known me (Nicole) my entire life, were there when Matt and I were married, and for a year, were colleagues when I worked with Greater Europe Mission. They are very special to us and we are so glad that they have now met the entire family.

Memorial Day Pilgrim

So... we were getting worried about the babies getting sunburned over the weekend. Having forgotten to bring hats for them, Nicole decided to fashion a hat for Ella out of a cloth diaper. She looks like a little Pilgrim girl and definitely does NOT approve of this choice. I thought it was hilarious.

Below is Noah and me that morning before the sun was out. He's thankful that Mom didn't fashion a hat for him.

Memorial Day

Some of the Ackerson side of the family of our family all got together at beautiful Kangeroo Lake in Door County, Wisconsin. It was a good time just relaxing and hanging out with family. We can definitely see this becoming a new family tradition.

Here is a group shot:

Daddy's girl

Before bed

Before bed, we all (yes, Moses is included) sit down in the big green chair and sing a few songs. Ella is generally good at what we call the 'corner sit.' Noah is a bit more wiggly so he tends to fall over --you can see that he is slowly sliding down behind his sister. She tried to go along with it, but in the end, he faceplanted on the chair and she was folded over in half.

Waking Up To a New Day

Its always funny to see them when they wake up. Noah was particularly playful this morning...

and Ella was wondering why we're taking her picture.

Little One

Sometimes we think that Ella will stay little forever. She is definitely a feather-weight, and unlike her brother, she still loves a good "swaddle"!
