I'm a bit behind in postings about our lives, but I did want to make note of the adventures of our favorite canine. In the last week, he has shown his true doggie self to us. It started last Wednesday. I was tying up loose ends around the house and not paying much attention to the amount of time Moses had spent outside that morning. I'm thinking that two hours had passed when I realized that I needed him to come inside so that we could leave. He finally came in after much coaxing. As I was getting the kids in their car seats I realized that Moses was proudly standing by a dead chipmunk that he had gingerly placed in the babies' play blanket. Just what Ella and Noah have been wanting! Needless to say, I was less than thrilled --Matt was not at his desk when I called (what else am I going to do when there is a dead furry thing in the middle of my living room?) and I'd love to hear the message that I left him. I was less than composed...
Item number two: Moses has an ongoing fascination with the bunnies that live around our house. He chases them around that yard, and they taunt him once they make it to the other side of our picket fence (ie. wiggle their little noses at him and graze on the lovely patches of clover that cover our lawn). I looked out this morning to see Moses digging in the pile of mulch that is sitting in the middle of our back yard. Not a good sign. Below is what I found when I went out for closer examination. I don't think that he would harm them (and I don't think that he killed little Alvin either, may he rest in peace) --I think that they just smelled nice and his curiosity got the best of him. I personally like the the one in the middle that insists on snuggling under his siblings. I did not really know what to do, but I covered them loosely with the mulch. Moses will be taking more walks until the nest is empty.
